This is a simple way to jazz up a soup, a main dish or bread without going to a ton of trouble.
- 2 fresh habaneros cored, seeded and sliced into chunks
- 2 garlic cloves peeled
- salt to taste
- 2 cups olive oil
- fine mesh strainer
- glass bottle for storage
I use my cuisinart for this because its the easiest way to get it done fast and the cleanup is simple.
Add all ingredients to cuisinart and blend until smooth and no chunks remain. strain through fine mesh metal strainer into bowl or measuring cup 2-3 times until no solids / froth remains. You will need to strain a couple more times over the next couple days.
Pour through funnel into a glass bottle and cork to seal. Its a beautiful light green color when properly strained and there shouldn’t be too much cloudy solids settled in the bottom of the bottle.
You can also turn it into a marinade sauce with this recipe.
